The Churches in Watton
There are are four churches in Watton and they work together through Watton Churches Together. They are: The Methodist Church, The Pentecostal Church, The Roman Catholic Church, and St. Mary's Church
Churches Together in Watton enables the churches in the town to work together in a number of different projects and it helps the churches to better serve the towns spiritual needs. It is also the forum that enables churches to support one another with special events.
Watton Methodist Church is the only Methodist Church for miles around that meets weekly for Sunday evening worship as well as in the morning and it is the only Methodist Church within the East Anglia District whose membership has grown by nearly 50% over the past 25 years.
Watton Pentecostal church is an independent and self-funded church affiliated to the Evangelical
Alliance, which is a mainstream grouping of like-minded Christian churches.

The church is a lively expression of todays church whilst having an incredible history. According to the Domesday Book Watton had a church prior to 1086. The present church is most likely to have been built on the same site, and is generally accepted to have been built between 1100 and 1135. |
